Other than Oregon State continuing their incredible run, everything was chalk yesterday and my picks stunk. Houston is still a fraudulent 2 seed and shouldn’t be trusted while the Orange shot 20% from the field. Baylor is for real (no duh) and Eric Musselman has a horseshoe shoved up his ass. Let’s get into some picks for today.
5 Creighton vs 1 Gonzaga(-13) (159)
Speaking of horseshoes up their asses, Creighton does not deserve to be here and will get their shit pushed in today. I’ll take under 159 because it’s the better play, but Gonzaga -13 will probably cover as well.
4 Florida State vs 1 Michigan(-2) (143)
I’m nervous for this game. Michigan by far had the hardest draw of any 1 seed, but they’re earning this ship. Florida State will slow the pace of this game down, but Michigan can beat you different ways. This will be a close one, I’ll go Michigan -2, but under 143 feels like a good play too.
11 UCLA VS 2 Alabama(-6.5) (145)
Alabama has a cakewalk to the Elite Eight, but I told myself I was going to be nicer to the PAC-12. I still think Alabama is vulnerable defensively, but they haven’t played a team that can keep up with them offensively. I don’t see UCLA slowing Bama down, but they will run with them, so I’ll take over 145.
7 Oregon vs 6 USC(-2) (138)
Today is full of much better matchups in comparison to yesterday. I love that the PAC-12 got so much flak throughout the year (hand up, myself included) and will have at least 2 teams in the Elite Eight. I thought Oregon would show some rust against Iowa last week, but they looked dominant against a vulnerable defense. This will be a much more difficult test against the Mobley brothers, but I still love the ducks +2. This will be a great nightcap to a weekend with less madness.
