It was a rough sweet sixteen. I apologize for the Syracuse pick, there is a reason they’re an 11 seed afterall, they were ice cold against Houston. I also should’ve known a hall of fame coach such as Jay Wright would recognize when he’s overmatched and take the air out of the ball to keep pace with Baylor. Other than those two games, I refuse to apologize for any other game. We went from 1-3 on Saturday to 3-1 on Sunday and we’re about to ride this hot streak out for the rest of the tournament.
Monday
12 Oregon State vs 2 Houston(-8) (129)
Houston is the most undeserved team who will probably reach the final four. They either blow shitty teams out by 40 or get exposed by decent teams such as Rutgers and Memphis. Don’t get me wrong, I love Houston, Quentin Grimes is an animal and the whole team has had a “next man up” mentality all season to get them to this point. I really want to see Oregon State keep up this miracle run they’ve been on, but I’m torn between talent and destiny. Fuck it, I’ll roll with Bill Walton again, let’s go Beavs +8.
3 Arkansas vs 1 Baylor(-7.5) (148.5)
Arkansas has had a horseshoe up their ass all tournament with the lucky breaks they’ve had, but they’re running into a buzzsaw with Baylor. We still haven’t seen the Arkansas offense we saw throughout the regular season where it seemed like they were capable of putting up triple digits any given night. Baylor showed their defensive prowess we’ve seen in years past against Villanova. They’re also more than capable of putting up points, they led the nation in 3-point shooting, and I think they’ll need it against a great Arkansas offense. I think Baylor wins, but I’ll take over 148.5 as a “safer” pick.
We only have 7 games left in the college basketball season, so soak this in while it lasts–remember when football was winding down and I told you to enjoy that while you had it?! Watch every moment of every game with every fiber of your body and appreciate this before it’s out of our lives for another 8 months.
