NFL Draft Top 5(Top 10 QBs) per position-Offense

QB

  1. Trevor Lawrence-(duh)-Most sure thing since Andrew Luck.
  2. Justin Fields–I’m not sure what made all these execs second guess Fields…he went from the definite number 2 to potentially number 5 because…pro days?…Ryan Day stinks at advocating for his guys.
  3. Zac Wilson-In a normal year I’d think he’s a mid-first rounder, but we’ll see how bad the Jets mess up this kid.
  4. Trey Lance-I love his arm and athleticism too..just not enough to put him ahead of Fields like a lot of execs do. I don’t care if you’re playing D-III football, 28 TDs and 0 picks is impressive
  5. Kyle Trask-Yeah, I said it. Remember when he was the second best quarterback going into this year and all of a sudden plummeted because his top 3 weapons opted out of a bowl game and pro days happened…someone is going to get a steal in the second round. (Maybe end of the first?!?!)
  6. Mac Jones-He’s good, I think he needs time to sit behind a guy, but not worth a 3rd overall pick.
  7. Kellen Mond-I love him. His stock rose after the Senior Bowl, but he’s an experienced guy with a ton of upside. I’d love to see him go to the Broncos in the late second/early third. We’ll screw it up though.
  8. Sam Ehlinger-A Tebow-esque player without the accolades, Sam Ehlinger is a project with a ton of experience, competitiveness and MOXY. Not sure how far that will get you in the league, but someone will either have a steal in the later rounds or reach to get him.
  9. Jamie Newman-Opposite of Sam Ehlinger, he has an absolute chooch for an arm, but sat out his 2020 year with Georgia after showing flashes in the pan at Wake Forest.
  10. /Ian Book/Davis Mills-Polar opposite quarterbacks. Ian Book is best when he’s forced to improvise whereas Davis Mills thrives in a clean pocket. Either one will be developmental guys who could be solid Chase Daniels -esque players…I mean that in the most loving way possible.

RB

  1. Najee Harris-The only first-round quality running back if you ask my dumb ass, Harris is an impact running back who would be valued higher if not for a bunch of teams needing a dadgum quarterback.
  2. Travis Etienne-Potentially another late-round running back (Steelers, Bucs?) who had a ton of carries at Clemson. Not the greatest pass-catching back, but tremendous athleticism.
  3. Javontae Williams- Maurice Jones-Drew Jr. with his frame. I love the way he runs behind his pads and seeks contact. He will be a great second day addition to any backfield.
  4. Trey Sermon- Maybe known more for his gif from the Clemson game, the kid has prototypical size and average speed. The guy was a walking pinball machine everytime he touched the ball because of his balance.
  5. Chuba Hubbard-Maybe I’m reaching a bit, but I love this kid’s intangibles. ESPN College Gameday did a great piece on him earlier this season during the racial injustice protests in our country. He’s a leader who works excellent in space.

WR

  1. Ja’Marr Chase-One of the few 6’+, 200+ dudes in this class. It might be difficult to remember this dude after sitting out 2020…but this was Joe Burrow’s FIRST option at LSU. His SECOND option, Justin Jefferson, went on to break an NFL rookie record with 1,400 receiving yards and a Viking rookie record (over Randy Fuckin Moss) with 88 receptions. I’m excited for this kid.
  2. Jaylen Waddle-This dude might’ve won the Heisman if he hadn’t injured his ankle. He had 557 yards, 4 TDs and over 22 yards per catch after the first 4 games. He’s not the biggest dude, but he’s bigger than his wingman, DeVontae Smith.
  3. DeVonta Smith-Seriously…Mac Jones had these dudes to throw to and we’re not knocking him?! Steve Sarkisian (for what it’s worth) said he received more feedback from Devonta Smith about what a defense is doing to him than most quarterbacks. Add that to his pedigree and ridiculous athleticism…he should be higher on my list.
  4. Rashod Bateman-I would’ve opted out of the dumpster fire that was the Gophers last year too, so don’t knock him for that. Take a look at his numbers from 2019 and it’s staggering with over 2 yards per catch, over 1200 yards and 11 TDs in a tough B1G conference. Watch the tape and you’ll see an excellent route runner with a wider catch radius than his 6 foot frame.
  5. Elijah Moore-Rashod Bateman and Elijah Moore could easily be 4a and 4b, but they are two completely different receivers. Bateman can be moved around and has a size advantage, so I placed him ahead of Moore, but Moore is a true, gifted slot receiver.

TE

Honestly, it’s Kyle Pitts and everyone else. I won’t waste your time.

Tackles

  1. Penei Sewell- I’m not sure how teams will grade guys opting out of the 2020 season, but I’m not going to ding a monster like Sewell (or Ja’Marr Chase) and I don’t think the rest of the league will either. He’s a day 1 starter regardless of his lack of experience.
  2. Rashawn Slater- Some people have him graded over Penei Sewell. The dude works his ass off in pass-pro and is agile enough to reach on outside zones and work up to the next level.
  3. Christian Darrisaw-I actually have him getting drafted ahead of Slater in my mock draft…maybe because I think Jerry Jones is an idiot or maybe because he’s a tank at 6’4, 322 lbs, played last year and had the highest PFF grade for a tackle last year.
  4. Teven Jenkins-Jenkins has played at both tackle positions and right guard throughout his time at Oklahoma State and boasted the second highest PFF grade for a tackle last year. I have him going in the first round and making an impact on a team right away.
  5. Liam Eichenberg-The guy started 37 games at Notre Dame and didn’t give up a sack his last 2 seasons. He was graded as the 11th best offensive lineman on PFF and will go in the first round.

Interior Offensive Linemen

  1. Elijah Vera-Tucker (guard)-He’s a versatile IOL with experience at tackle as well. He’s an absolute road-grader and will make some run-game coordinator really happy. There’s also not a ton of depth at this position, so he may come off the board earlier.
  2. Landon Dickerson (center)-He was the second highest graded offensive lineman according to PFF and the highest graded center. He’s torn his ACL twice, so there’s a huge concern there, but he is an absolute unit at 6’6 33 with a ton of upside.
  3. Alex Leatherwood(guard/tackle)-Whether he plays tackle or guard, he’ll make a difference on a team. At 6’7, he’s got the length to play tackle, but he was an absolute tank in the run game and seems like most teams value him as a guard. A late 1st day, early 2nd day pick for sure.
  4. Creed Humphrey(center)-There’s a dramatic drop off from the first 5 guys on this list to the rest and Humphrey might be the only other center outside Dickerson to be picked in the first two days. He started 3 years for the Sooners and didn’t give up a single sack. He has great size/speed, but isn’t exactly a brute when it comes to his downblocks.
  5. Quinn Meinerz (center/guard)-This dude stole the show at the Senior Bowl and went from an unheard of nobody from Wisconsin-Whitewater to a potential 2nd day pick. I wouldn’t be surprised if some team gets a hard on late in the first day and takes a flyer on this kid, either. Good for him.

I’m getting fired up for the draft. Tomorrow we’ll go over defense and Thursday we’ll take a look at my final Mock Draft (WITH TRADES!!) before the show. Follow me on twitter @morning_flush for my prop bets on draft night. Love you, bye.
