What a great weekend for college football (10-2, no biggie). We had top ranked teams go down, the Hog Call was alive and well during the annual Texas funeral.
ACC
You’re welcome for the Pitt spread and the Miami under (and the App State cover if you followed me), but this conference STINKS. Notre Dame looks a lot shittier after FSU lost in the most hilariously dramatic fashion possible.
B1G
They really need to move back some of these marquee B1G games for the sake of my hangover. The last thing I want at 9 am is Gus Johnson screaming OVER THE MIDDLE on a 7 yard completion. Seeing Ryan Day’s punchable face screaming “GoT DaMn It” quickly made everything worth it. Iowa looks really, really good and could contend for a B1G ship with Ohio down. I love Michigan, but I know they’re just setting me up to rip my heart out. Everyone else played cupcakes or got their shit pushed in (Illinois).
Big 12
Texas is dead. Put Sark on the hot seat and fuck sending them to the SEC, demote them to the Mountain West. I don’t trust anyone in this conference, if Oklahoma stumbles, the Big 12 is D-U-N.
Pac-12
Oregon will have to shoulder the load in this conference again if ASU or UCLA can’t step in. Arizona continues to anchor the conference down after getting waxed by San Diego State at home, meanwhile, Utah completely shit the bed against BYU to put a bow on a terrible weekend for the Pac-12.
SEC
Actually the best conference this year (not the bullshit self proclaimed best) with 3-4 potential contenders and Ole Miss rollin’ on the Lane Train. I’m convinced Texas stinks, but Arknasas looked like the Darren McFadden glory days Saturday night.
American
Outside of Cincy you can’t tell me this conference is hands down the “power 6” conference. Boise traveled to UCF and held their own and lost in a heartbreaker, but I’ll take the Mountain West pound for pound over the American. Also, fuck Memphis for blowing a 20 point lead and the -5.5 spread.
C-USA
They’re playing football, I guess. Especially Charlotte and Marshall.
MAC
Their best wins were close losses to Notre Dame, Minnesota and Wyoming.
MWC
UNLV, New Mexico (don’t let the 2-0 record fool you, they stink), CSU and Hawaii are HEAVY anchors, but this conference is top heavy. My beloved Pokes will get the Defense turned around and Sean Chambers has plenty of 1-on-1 matchups with defenses stacking the box. Fresno State might be the group of 5 darling if Cincy slips a few times. They played Oregon tough and had a chance to win that game while shit pumping everyone else. Boise is still Boise and Nevada could be a sneaky good pick to win the conference. I could see 7-8 bowl eligible teams this year.
Fun Belt
Unfortunately Coastal Carolina won’t actually play anyone worth a damn until they play App State October 20th because they look legit again. Too bad there are too many anchors in this conference because App State and Coastal Carolina are wagons.
Everyone else
Liberty–still a wagon, can’t wait for November 6 vs Ole Miss. Notre Dame–still overrated, their eventual playoff slipup is inevitable. BYU is about to be the National media’s darling and it makes me sick. They beat a shitty Arizona team and a Utah team that will finish 6-6.
