It seems like very seldom a big game meets expectations–which is what we got from the Kentucky Tennessee game last night. However, if you followed the picks, sprinkled some moneylines, and went with a Villanova/Providence teaser, you were up big last night. Although the slate of games doesn’t look as great as last night’s at first glance, there’s some value in the crumbs. Let’s eat.

TL/DR:

Game of the night: Winthrop@Gardner-Webb(-3.5) (137)
Picks
SC Upstate(even)
Campbell-4
Winthrop+3.5
Seton Hall +5.5
Baylor+2

Game of the Night

Winthrop@Gardner-Webb(-3.5) (137)

The winner of this game has the benefit of avoiding Campbell before playing Longwood for the Big South title. If you’ve tracked these bets, you know I love Gardner-Webb, but I’m taking the Eagles because they’re catching points. If the line were opposite, I’d love the value with GW.

Picks

Presbyterian@South Carolina Upstate (EVEN)

At the time of this article, South Carolina Upstate is even money at home. They’re frisky enough where I would lay a low number with them. Hammer this value play.

Campbell(-4)@Radford

Even after a tough home loss against Gardner-Webb a week ago, I believe Campbell is one of the best teams in the Big South. They’re up against a Radford team who has lost 12 of their last 15 games. Hammer the Campbell Fighting Camels (CCHS copyright infringement?)

Seton Hall@UConn(-5.5) (136)

I’m using the “hungry dog runs faster” method to pick this game. This would be a huge Q1 pick up for Seton Hall to seal their tournament bid, as long as they avoid disaster down the stretch against a couple frisky teams. I wouldn’t hate moving the line (maybe Seton Hall +10.5 and over 128) for even money.

Baylor@Texas Tech(-2) (136)

Tread very lightly with this pick, but I love the value with Baylor here. Texas Tech hasn’t lost a game at home, and Baylor just lost their stud 6th man, Jonathon Tchamwa Tchatchoua, to a knee injury, but this is a game Baylor needs to win to jump into the 1 seed conversation. How about this for gasbag analysis: Nobody waltzes into United Supermarkets Arena and expects a dub, but Baylor’s got the cats to get it done. Hammer the moneyline.

If you’re expecting nuance and detailed analysis of each game, look elsewhere. We’re here for winners, and winners only. Love you, bye.
