I understand people who watch professional sports over college. The talent level and the pace of the game is undeniably better than in college, but if I had to take a foreigner to the United States to a football or basketball game, we’re going to a college rivalry game. The pageantry and the storied traditions of each program reach farther than any professional team.
Enter the Border War. A rivalry that’s lacked in big time games in football (but has still produced incredible moments like Chase Appleby’s pick 6 or Josh Allen driving Wyoming to a go-ahead score in the snow) the last few years has been reignited through basketball; with two teams entrenched in every bracketologist’s tournament and fighting for a regular season Mountain West championship.
In the 236th rendition of basketball’s Border War, we finally got an opportunity for a big game and a big moment with an OT win over Cock Sucker University in Laramie. Before the 237th game where we’ll be 6 point dawgs, playing in that shithole Moby Arena, I just want to remind y’all how much it sucks…to be…a CSU Ram. Pokes by a zillion.
Je t’aime, bonjour.
