CFB Prognostication: Hawai’i

67 days. 67 days until the greatest sport is back in our lives, which means it’s time to make predictions for every team in the country and look back at how wildly incorrect I was in December. We’ll start like a book and work left to right across the country. Starting with Hawaii and the Mountain West/Washington and the Pac12 and end with the “It MeAnS mOrE” conference in the SEC and the Sun Belt. LFG.

Schedule/Predicted wins:

Vanderbilt@Hawaii
Western Kentucky@Hawaii
Hawaii@Michigan
Duquesne@Hawaii
Hawaii@New Mexico State
Hawai’i@San Diego State
Nevada@Hawaii
Hawaii@Colorado State
Wyoming@Hawaii
Hawaii@Fresno State
Utah State@Hawaii
UNLV@Hawaii
Hawaii@San Jose State

Predicted record: 6-7
Floor: 3-9
Ceiling: 8-5

I fuckin’ love Timmy Chang and Hawaii’s administration realizing they screwed up with the Todd Graham hire (WHAT?! You mean someone with a questionable past built a toxic culture within the program?!) and doing a complete 180 by bringing in one of “their guys”. Sure he doesn’t have any coordinating experience at the FBS level, and zero head coaching experience at any level, but Timmy freakin’ Chang put up sick numbers as the Rainbow Warriors’ signal caller and is going to bring some swag to the program. How soon, if ever, that translates to success will be determined. Neither of his coordinators have experience at the FBS level, so this might be a slow rebuild, but imagine the nostalgia Hawaii fans will have with Chang on the sidelines. They’ve got to be willing to trade in some losses for a sweetness factor, but who knows, maybe they’ll catch lightning in a bottle and get another Hawaii Bowl birth. Either way, get ready to hammer the over in all their games.
