Another solid season for the Aztecs and a MWC affiliated bowl game. It must be great to just know you’re always in contention for a conference title playing in a shitty West division. Unfortunately for the spoiled students at SDSU, with Fresno State also on their side of the conference, I don’t see the Aztecs anywhere close to a conference title this year despite bringing back most of their defensive starters and getting an upgrade at QB with Va Tech transfer Braxton Burmeister. An upset over Utah or Boise State could get them in the conversation early in the season though.
50/50 games
The games against Boise State and Utah are winnable, but it’s a shame both of those are on the road. A split in those two games would be huge for this team going forward. It’ll be interesting to see how Air Force reloads with several key pieces graduating on defense and their top wideout going to the NFL, otherwise the last game of the season could be winnable for SDSU as well.
