I typically stay away from prop bets, but the Super Bowl gets me every time. Whether it’s hammering the over on the national anthem, taking tails because it never fails, or guessing the first commercial, I’m a sucker for the party props. Sports Interaction came up with a list of props you can use at home to entertain your guests who are there for the Usher concert, the kiddos, or if you’re trying to play a drinking game, it’s a pretty great list.
Here are a couple of my favorites from the list and others I found online:
Length of National Anthem Over/Under 87.5
One of my favorite bets of all time is the National Anthem Length, and I will ALWAYS hammer the over. Life’s to short to bet the under, especially when it comes to the greatest song in the history of ‘Merica.
Coin toss result
Tails never fails. Always has been and always will be my motto. I’m over my college days of betting two shots of everclear on the coin toss, but I’ll still bet a cold plunge on it.
First offensive play of the game
Always a fun prop, and I’ll always bet on a run play. Consistency is key.
Team to score first
As you know, I like to fade public opinion when it comes to betting. This is no different. Most people think of the team to score first as whoever has the best offense, but my brain actually goes to the defense. Think about it, The offense is probably going to start with the ball on their own 25 yard line. If the defense can pitch a 3 and out on the first series, their offense will have better field position to move into field goal range. Everyone is ranting and raving about the Chiefs defense and shitting on the Niners, focusing only on the last two weeks of the postseason and forgetting the rest of the regular season. I like the Niners defense more, gimme the Niners to strike first as well.
Team with longest field goal
If this is anything less than Kansas City -1000, I’m hammering the Chiefs. Harrison Butker is one of the best kickers in the league while Jake Moody is a rookie finding his way while developing his leg strength.
Length of Longest Touchdown O/U 44.5 yards
I feel like we’re due for an iconic Super Bowl touchdown. The James Harrison pick-six followed by Kurt Warner to Larry Fitzgerald were iconic touchdowns in Super Bowl XLIII. Devin Hester took the opening kickoff to the house in Super Bowl XLI, and Musin Muhammed caught a bomb from Jake “Daylight come and they wanna Delhomme” in Super Bowl XXXVIII in what would be the 2nd best flash play in that game. Nick Bolton’s scoop and score last year was only 36 yards, and even in the Patriots/Eagles Super Bowl-where there were a ton of HUGE plays- there wasn’t a touchdown over 45 yards. We have to go all the way back to when Robert Alford on the Falcons picked off Tom Brady and returned it for 6 in 2017 during Super Bowl LI. We’re due, and if you want to pick a team, I’d pick the Niners with all their firepower.
Gatorade Color dumped on winning coach

It’s crazy how many times it hasn’t happened in the last 24 years, but I guess the patriots just assumed they’d be back? The run on clear in the from 2005-2008 was incredible as well. According to Fanduel, Orange is the favorite at +240 and clear is the long shot at +1000. I’m going to focus more on the colors with middling odds. Yellow/Green at +380 looks pretty tasty since it hasn’t been used this decade, yet. I’ll do this and sprinkle a blue since it’s been such a popular color. Red isn’t on the list and I have to agree. Red Gatorade is great for a hangover/relaxing outside, but who wants to drink that when working out? Too heavy.
Usher first song
“My Way” went from +225 to +100, so you’re either hammering that song or staying away. The public is on “OMG” which went from +800 to +150.
Will MVP mention Taylor Swift? (+750)
I might sprinkle this. Either the Chiefs win and Travis Kelce/Mahomes makes a Swift joke, or maybe Deebo Samuel will troll her if the Niners win? Might be worth it.
Travis Kelce to Propose to Taylor Swift (+1020)
Gotta hammer yes right? If you don’t then I’m not sure if you believe in love.
The Big Game is just around the corner. We had to wet the beak a little bit with some fun prop bets. Print the list, hang it up during your party and have a great time. We’ll get a little more serious with player prop bets tomorrow and side/total Sunday morning.
