Diversify the Portfolio

I didn’t love the card yesterday and our record/chalky picks reflected it. With Hagen’s Horizon league starting their tournament and other mid-majors starting up, you can bet your ass our cards will be looking more promising. I’m moderately in love with the board today. Let’s find a way.

Too Long, Didn’t Read

Game of the Night: Iowa@Michigan(-2) (154.5)

Picks
Michigan State+6
Purdue FW -6.5
Illinois State -1
Tulane +2
Rice +7

Game of the Night

25 Iowa@Michigan(-2) (154.5)

A couple weeks ago I said Michigan would need to go .500 in their next 4 games to put themselves in the tournament. They’ve done that, but now looking long term they have a legitimate shot at getting a 4 or 5 seed in the B1G tournament. What does that mean? You get a bye until the quarterfinals which gives Coach Howard a chance to reflect on his anger management more. Hawkeyes? Buckeyes? Popeyes? It don’t matter, the Wolverines are winnin’ the Big Ten.

Picks

Michigan State+6@BlowHio State (139)

This is too many points for two overrated teams. Michigan shitpumped little brother a couple nights ago and the Fuckeyes were laughed out of their own building by Nebraska. I trust MSU’s defense to keep this game close against EJ Liddell and Ohio State’s efficient offense.

UIC@Purdue Fort Wayne -6.5 (147)

You might want to join me taking the PFW Mastadons at +500 to win Hagen’s Horizon league. It’s a deeeeep league, so you might want to diversify your portfolio with Cleveland State or Northern Kentucky, but I love their odds and their draw to a final.

Indiana State@Illinois State-1 (143.5)

A down year for the Redbirds, but I like them to move on to a date with Northern Iowa tomorrow. They beat this same Indiana State team by 20 a few nights ago after a rough stretch against the class of the MVC (still covered in a few games though).

UCF@Tulane+2 (140)

One of the friskiest teams in the nation as home dawgs on senior night? I’m hammering the Green Wave moneyline.

Rice+7@UTEP (144.5)

I doubt you’ll be able to find a “Souley Boum” prop bet out there, but Rice can’t guard anyone, so he might go off. Luckily the rest of UTEP is 263rd in the nation in scoring, so it shouldn’t be a problem. UTEP has its own defensive deficiencies, so I love Rice to cover here, maybe sprinkle a moneline and an over too.

You bet your bottom dollar there will be some sprinkles on the twitter feed today. If you’re still sleeping on College Basketball you’ve missed two thrillers back to back nights with the Wisconsin/Purdue back and forth and Arkansas holding off LSU in a rowdy Bud Walton arena. Get your ass on the couch and watch some games–you deserve it. (PS, you have one starting at 10:30 am MT, turn it on while you work and sprinkle UT Arlington Moneyline). Love you, bye.
