I really like the bushy Beavers from Corvallis this year…which means they won’t be a poverty program and will go bowling for the second year in a row. With the Pac-12 seemingly in disarray again this year, especially in the north, Oregon State could find themselves in the conversation for a Pac-12 title despite going 1-2 in non-conference play. The Beavs lost two of their top offensive weapons in B.J Baylor and Trevon Bradford to the NFL, but explosive Junior backs Deshaun Fenwick and Trey Lowe should carry the load moving forward with Georgia Tech transfer Jamious Griffin providing depth/competition at the running back spot. They return a majority of their defensive talent as well, highlighted by NFL prospect Avery Roberts.

50/50 games

As mentioned, there is a path for the Beavers to win the Pac-12 North to give themselves a shot at the Pac-12 title. Much of this comes down the team’s psyche if they start the season like shit as we predict. Even if they lose both of these games, they have a stretch of inferior north teams ahead of them until they travel to Tempe to play the Sun Devils. This is absolutely a winnable game for the Beavers and a must-win to keep their Pac-12 North chances alive. If they squeak by ASU, it will set up a matchup with Oregon in the Civil War for the Pac-12 North. We’re asking them to rattle off 7 wins in a row, but it’s very doable in a shitty Pac-12 conference.

  1. This team will go under the radar again but has 15 returning starters on both sides of the ball including most of the OL and TE. The key to me is those first two games again the top of the Mountain West. IF they can pull those out, I see as many as 9 wins. I think they only pull out one though and will drop a game they shouldn’t because that’s what PAC 12 teams do so I also have them at 7 wins. I’m seeing Vegas has them at 5.5 wins so I will be HAMMERING the over.
